Born at Eysden, the Netherlands, studied agri- and horticulture, next garden- and landscape design to practice the latter some years.
Finished the Rietveld Academy in 1973 and started a studio in Amsterdam as free-lance photographer working for the leading glossy magazines and some publicity agencies.
The commercial world stimulated me to fly away for a while so my hunger for travelling could unfold further.
Spent all my money, bought a Toyota jeep to cross the Sahara desert.
By living very basically both moneywise and mentally gave me the possibility to pursue my fascination and curiosity for other people and cultures while passing through the most beautiful countries and landscapes.
Travelled 70,000 KM on this trip through the following countries; France, Spain, Morocco, Algeria, Mali, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Cameroon, Rep. of Congo, Rwanda, Tanzania, Seychelles, Kenya, Sudan, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Turkey, Greece, Yugoslavia and Italy.
The all ended almost two years later with only a couple of pennies left but independent and rich in mind.
A giant experience that changed my life for ever!
Still travelling all over the world between -30 and +50° Celsius or working in my studio in a cosy village near Amsterdam, creating still lives, trying to catch somebody's emotion in that split second or chasing a fly....
It all keeps me moving and flying around, taking home these new impressions as souvenirs.
Signed a typical all-round photographer.
You are welcome to visit my studio where I finish my pictures and making my own printings up to 110 x 300 cm. Quite some pictures and panels in stock on scale (± 100 x 150 cm) and for sale.
